Terms of Use
Last updated: September 11, 2026 · Version 2026-09-11
Welcome to SolarDim.
These Terms of Use set out the rules governing access to and use of the SolarDim services, including SolarDim Pro, SolarDim Home, the solar sizing tools, energy monitoring features, reports, quotes, exports and related services.
These Terms become part of the contract only when we refer you to them before conclusion, give you a reasonable opportunity to review them, and you expressly accept them.
1. Service overview
The provider and contracting party is WK-Solutions, Am Alten Gericht 5, 42477 Alsdorf, Germany. These Terms apply to consumers and business users; mandatory consumer protection remains unaffected.
SolarDim is a digital platform designed to help professionals, installers, engineers, businesses and end users to:
- estimate the energy needs of a solar project
- size solar, hybrid, off-grid or backup installations
- manage projects, clients, components, quotes and reports
- export information to SolarDim Home
- monitor certain energy data when compatible equipment is connected
- generate technical or commercial reports
SolarDim provides decision-support tools. Results provided by SolarDim do not replace professional expertise, technical verification, site surveys, local electrical standards, regulatory obligations, or final validation by a qualified professional.
2. User account
Submitting the registration form is your offer to enter into a user agreement. The agreement is concluded when we activate or confirm the account. A paid subscription requires a separate order; selecting a plan during registration does not trigger payment.
To access certain features, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information.
You are responsible for:
- the confidentiality of your credentials
- activity carried out from your account
- keeping your information up to date
- the proper use of client, project and installation data
You must contact us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Permitted use
You agree to use SolarDim only for lawful, professional or legitimate personal purposes.
You must not:
- use SolarDim for fraudulent, illegal or deceptive activity
- attempt unauthorized access to other users' accounts, servers, APIs or data
- copy, modify, resell or redistribute the service without authorization
- disrupt the operation of the platform
- upload malicious, false, offensive content or content contrary to applicable laws
- use a client's data without appropriate authorization
4. Technical responsibility
Sizing calculations, solar production estimates, consumption figures, battery autonomy, PDF reports, cost estimates, return-on-investment figures and recommendations are provided as decision-support only.
These results depend in particular on:
- data entered by the user
- calculation assumptions
- the components selected
- the quality of weather or solar data
- actual site conditions
- the electrical installation
- system maintenance
- the limits of the equipment and batteries
- applicable local standards
The user or the professional in charge of the project remains responsible for final validation, regulatory compliance, equipment selection, electrical safety and on-site installation.
5. SolarDim Home and monitoring data
SolarDim Home allows users to view certain energy monitoring data when the installation is connected to a compatible source, such as an inverter, a manufacturer API, an ESP32 dongle or another compatible device.
The data displayed may include:
- solar production
- consumption
- battery status
- grid power
- alerts
- connection status
- energy history
- installation technical information
This data may depend on equipment availability, internet connectivity, third-party APIs, the installation configuration, and the quality of the measurements received.
SolarDim does not guarantee that monitoring data will always be available, accurate, complete or real-time.
6. Reports, quotes and generated documents
SolarDim may generate reports, quotes, exports or technical documents.
The user is responsible for verifying:
- prices
- quantities
- component references
- client contact details
- assumptions
- taxes
- commercial terms
- document compliance before sending it to the end client
SolarDim cannot be held liable for a commercial, tax, technical or contractual error resulting from a document not verified by the user.
7. Subscriptions, payments and billing
Registration and the Free plan are free of charge. A paid subscription is ordered only through a separate checkout.
Paid plans may include, depending on the offer:
- more projects
- more clients
- watermark-free reports
- advanced features
- monitoring
- export
- quotes
- support
- team features
Before a paid order is submitted, the service, total price including applicable taxes, billing period, term, renewal and cancellation conditions are shown clearly. Recurring Stripe subscriptions renew for the stated monthly or yearly period until cancelled at the end of a billing period. Prepaid CinetPay periods expire without automatic renewal unless expressly agreed otherwise at checkout.
Payments may be processed by third-party providers such as CinetPay, Stripe, or any other provider indicated at the time of payment.
SolarDim does not directly store sensitive card or payment information when payment is handled by an external provider.
Access to paid features is activated once payment is confirmed by the payment provider.
8. Cancellation, expiry and renewal
A recurring subscription may be cancelled at any time with effect at the end of the current billing period. The Stripe customer portal is also available. Any legally required website cancellation facility and the right to terminate for good cause remain unaffected.
Deleting the user account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription, while ending a subscription may leave the account active on the Free plan.
9. Client and project data
Professional users may enter information relating to their own clients and projects.
The user warrants that they hold the necessary authorization to collect, enter, process and use this information in SolarDim.
The user remains responsible for informing their own clients when their data is entered into SolarDim.
10. Third-party services
SolarDim may use or integrate third-party services, for example:
- payment services
- cloud hosting
- database services
- inverter APIs
- mapping or location services
- email services
- technical or weather analysis tools
These third-party services may be subject to their own terms of use and privacy policies.
SolarDim is not responsible for interruptions, errors or changes originating from independent third-party services.
11. Intellectual property
SolarDim, its name, logo, interface, texts, templates, calculations, features, designs and code are protected under applicable intellectual property rules.
Unless authorized in writing, you may not:
- copy the service
- reproduce the interface
- resell access
- bulk-extract data
- build a competing service based on SolarDim
Data you enter into your account remains your data, or your clients’ data, as applicable.
12. Service availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep SolarDim available, secure and functional.
However, we do not guarantee permanent or error-free access. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, technical incidents, network issues, provider unavailability, or force majeure.
13. Suspension or account closure
SolarDim may suspend or close an account in the event of:
- breach of these Terms
- fraud or attempted fraud
- abusive use
- non-payment
- security risk
- a legal or regulatory obligation
Where reasonably possible, the user will be notified.
14. Limitation of liability
Our liability remains unlimited for intent and gross negligence; injury to life, body or health; product liability; an assumed guarantee; and every other case of mandatory liability. For slight negligence affecting an essential contractual duty, liability is limited to the typical foreseeable loss. Liability for other slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
The user acknowledges that any solar installation must be validated by a qualified professional in compliance with applicable local rules.
15. Changes to these Terms
SolarDim may amend these Terms to reflect:
- changes to the service
- regulatory changes
- new features
- security requirements
- changes of providers
Material changes are notified in good time on a durable medium. Where consent is legally required, a change takes effect only after express agreement. A newly published version does not apply to an existing contract merely because it appears on the platform.
16. Governing law and user protection
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice does not remove protection granted by mandatory rules of the country of their habitual residence. Statutory consumer venues remain unaffected.
17. Withdrawal and digital services
Consumers generally have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract. Details and the model form are available at /widerruf. Mandatory rights governing supply, conformity, updates and remedies for digital services remain unaffected.
